Game 1: Uruguay vs South Korea

• Winner: Uruguay
• Why: While South Korea will put up a fight, Uruguay’s front line of Suárez and Forlán should prove to be too much

Game 2: USA vs Ghana

• Winner: Ghana
• Why: Close call with team USA on a confidence high as of late, however home team support usually breaks close games and Ghana should have way more.

Game 3: Argentina vs Mexico

• Winner: Argentina
• Why: Too much firepower in Argentina’s side, however the Mexican team should never be underestimated, they are playing great at the moment and it should make for quite an exciting match.

Game 4: Germany vs England

• Winner: England
• Why: Wayne Rooney hasn’t had a great game yet, but usually rises to the challenge, and I expect him to break out in the Germany game. Coupled with an injury to key midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, and a pretty inexperienced German team, I think England will squeak by.

Game 5: Netherlands vs Slovakia

• Winner: Netherlands
• Why: Just as with Argentina, too much firepower on the Netherlands front line. Slovakia plays pretty disciplined, but they don’t quite have enough to handle the Dutch.

Game 6: Brazil vs Chile

• Winner: Brazil
• Why: Chile has played decent lately, getting 2 wins, but almost no one can match up with Brazil.

Game 7: Paraguay vs Japan

• Winner: Japan
• Why: Keisuke Honda. Paraguay has a good team, but as proven when Japan played Denmark, when Honda plays great, Japan is very hard to beat.

Game 8: Spain vs Portugal

• Winner: Spain
• Why: This one is a very tough call. If Cristiano Ronaldo plays well, Portugal always has a chance, however Spain is just way more balanced overall.
