- Description: Villarreal’s newest gem, Jefferson Montero has been improving steadily for years, and looks poised to have a breakout year in the upcoming 2010-2011 season. Starting his footballing career at his native country of Ecuador, the winger was particularly impressive for his former side Independiente José Terán, scoring a number of goals for the club. His performances caught the eye of Villarreal who eventually signed the youngster to a 5 year deal in April 0f 2009. During the 2009-2010 he played mostly for the Villarreal B squad, where he was one of the best players, scoring 8 goals in 32 appearances and dazzling fans with his pace, dribbling, and play making abilities. He is expected to play a major part for Villarreal’s first team in the upcoming season, and has all the potential to be a star winger.
