Best Young Player Award Winner: Thomas Müller ![]()
- Why: Has been one of the revelations in the tournament, helping drive Germany to the semifinals (he was suspended for the game against Spain due to reaching the yellow card limit) with impressive performances in almost every game. Müller can arguably be considered one of the top 10 players in the tournament and by consensus looks to be the second German in a row to win the award (Lukas Podolski won in 2006).
- Current Stats: 5 goals/3 assists
Golden Glove Award Winner: Iker Casillas ![]()
- Why: A tough call, since a lot of other goalkeepers have also performed well, — Neuer and Stekelenburg have more saves for example — however Casillas is the only one who hasn’t conceded a goal during the knockout stages. A part of that comes from Spain’s defense, but Casillas has still been reliable between the posts as of late, playing consistently well and he deserves this award.
- Current Stats: 2 goals allowed/4 clean sheets
