Here are a few teams that impressed on the first day of the second leg matches:

Cercle Brugge

  • Second Round Opponent/Aggregate Score: Turun Palloseura/2:2
  • Impression: Down 0-1 after the first leg, Brugge were dealt a further blow as their opponents scored a penalty on the 39th minute through forward Jonatan Johansson. However Brugge fought back well, equalizing on the 51st through fast midfielder Reynaldo (20, a player with good dribbling and touch on the ball) and then winning the game during the last 4 minutes of normal time through promising midfielder Lukas van Eenoo (19, a player with good passing skills). They will now face Anorthosis in the third round.

Anorthosis

  • Second Round Opponent/Aggregate Score: Šibenik/3:2
  • Impression: This arguably had to be the best comeback of the second round so far. Anorthosis was down 0-2 after the first leg, and had it all to do on the road. However the team had a very bright start, scoring on the 16th minute through French midfielder Vincent Laban (25, a player with a good touch on the ball and technique), and then 9 minutes later leveling the score on aggregate through Cristovão (27, a fast winger with good dribbling). Neither of the teams could score again in regular time, so extra time ensued. On the 6th minute of extra time, Anorthosis won the tie through a goal by veteran forward Yiannis Okkas (33, a strong player with good finishing and heading abilities). Anorthosis will now face fellow comeback team Cercle Brugge in the third round.

Dinamo Minsk

  • Second Round Opponent/Aggregate Score: Sillamäe/10:1
  • Impression: The Belorussian side impressed again, scoring 5 goals and keeping a clean sheet this time. Promising midfielder Andrei Chukhlei (22, a fast player with good passing skills) had a great game with 2 goals. Dinamo will now face Maccabi Haifa, in what should be an exciting match up in the third round.

Dinamo Bucureşti

  • Second Round Opponent/Aggregate Score: Olimpia Bălţi/7:1
  • Impression: After a 2-0 win in the first leg, qualification still wasn’t all that certain and Dinamo certainly delivered in the second leg. 5 players scored a goal apiece — including captain Andrei Cristea (26, a fast striker with good finishing skills) — to secure a 5-1 win and the tie. Dinamo will now face Croatia’s Hajduk Split in the third round.

Wisła Kraków

  • Second Round Opponent/Aggregate Score: Šiauliai/7:0
  • Impression: Up 2-0 after the first leg Wisła Kraków took control of the second leg after the 17th minute, when Šiauliai’s captain and defender Tomas Kančelskis was shown a red car. The Polish side scored 6 minutes after and kept at it to a 5-0 win. Twin brothers Piotr (27 a fast, versatile winger/defender) and Pavel (27, a fast striker with good finishing skills) Brożek impressed, scoring a goal apiece. Wisła Kraków will now face Qarabağ in the next round.

Zrinjski

  • Second Round Opponent/Aggregate Score: Tre Penne/13:3
  • Impression: Bosnia and Herzegovina’s club Zrinjski has the highest aggregate score of the second round so far. With a 4-1 win in the first leg, the club won with a remarkable score of 9-2 in the second leg. Vernes Selimović (27, a fast forward with good finishing and heading abilities), Mladen Žižović (29, an attacking midfielder with a great touch) and Vlado Zadro (23, a winger with good technique) all scored 2 goals apiece to add to a very impressive performance. Zrinjski will now face Odense in the third round, in what should be a tough match up.

Olympiacos

  • Second Round Opponent/Aggregate Score: Besa Kavajë/11:1
  • Impression: Another impressive performance from Olympiacos as well, they added a 6-1 win to the 5-0 score in the first tie. Enzo Maresca (30, a midfielder with good passing and technique) along with the team’s captain Dudu (27, a strong midfielder with good shooting and heading abilities) scored 2 goals apiece to add to a great performance. Olympiacos will now face Maccabi Tel Aviv in the third round, in what should be 2 exciting games.
