Here is a look at and projection of the Champions League qualifying Tottenham side for the 2010-2011 season:
Players In: Sandro (defensive midfielder, undisclosed fee, but rumored to be about £6 million), William Gallas (centre back, free transfer), Rafael van der Vaart (attacking midfielder, £8 million), Stipe Pletikosa (goalkeeper, loan)
Players Out: Adel Taarabt (attacking midfielder, £600,000), third choice goalkeeper, reserve and academy team players, and those out on loan
Strengths: Strikers, with Robbie Keane, Peter Crouch, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Jermain Defoe, Tottenham have a front line that can rival most clubs. The club also has a lot of midfielders, with the likes of Palacios, Modric, Kranjčar and O’Hara among others, being able to cover many positions.
Weaknesses: Creativity in central midfield, Tottehnam do have a lot of midfielders, however they could still use another creative natural central midfield player.
Projected Place: 5th
Overall: Overall Tottenham are a very tough side, and if they keep improving and sign 1 or 2 more players to add to the quality, the squad could be at the top of the league.
