Here is a look at and projection of the A.C. Milan side for the 2010-2011 season:
Players In: Mario Yepes (centre back, free transfer), Marco Amelia (goalkeeper, loan), Sokratis Papastathopoulos (centre back, undisclosed fee, but rumored to be about €5 million along with co-ownership deals), Kevin-Prince Boateng (central midfielder, loan), Bruno Montelongo (right back, loan), Zlatan Ibrahimović (striker, loan), Robinho (striker, €18 million)
Players Out: Giuseppe Favalli (left back, retired), Marco Storari (goalkeeper, €4.5 million), Dida (goalkeeper, free transfer), Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (striker, undisclosed fee, but rumored to be about €13 million), Kakha Kaladze (centre back, undisclosed fee), Marco Borriello (striker, €10 million), reserve and academy team players, and those out on loan
Strengths: Centre Backs, with Alessandro Nesta, Thiago Silva, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Mario Yepes, Oguchi Onyewu and to some extent Daniele Bonera, Milan have a great defensive line. Their strikers are also good, with Alexandre Pato, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Robinho and Filippo Inzaghi making up the core.
Weaknesses: Central Midfielders, Milan only really have Andrea Pirlo along with Kevin-Prince Boateng to cover there, and could use another creative natural central midfield player.
Projected Place: 2nd
Overall: Milan have a good team and should challenge for the Serie A title as well as the Champions League.
