Here is a look at and projection of the Sampdoria side for the 2010-2011 season:

Players In: Stefano Guberti (left winger, €3 million), Nicola Pozzi (striker, undisclosed fee), Gianluca Curci (goalkeeper, undisclosed co-ownership deal), Luciano Zauri (right back, loan), Júnior Costa (goalkeeper, free transfer), reserve and academy team player

Players Out: Luca Castellazzi (goalkeeper, free transfer), Alessandro Bastrini (centre back, €200,000), Danilo Soddimo (attacking midfielder, undisclosed fee), Antonio Mirante (goalkeeper, undisclosed fee), and those out on loan

Strengths: Strikers, with Antonio Cassano, Giampaolo Pazzini, Nicola Pozzi and Guido Marilungo, Sampdoria have a great offensive line. Their midfielders are also good, with Angelo Palombo, Andrea Poli, Marco Padalino and Fernando Tissone making up the core.

Weaknesses: Right Backs, as Sampdoria only really have Luciano Zauri to cover there. They do have other players to fill in, but could use another natural player in that position.

Projected Place: 6th

Overall: Sampdoria have a good team, and with a few more signings or player development, could surely challenge for the Serie A title.
