Here is a look at and projection of the 2009-2010 Serie A season’s runners-up:
Players In: Adriano (striker, free transfer), Ahmed Barusso (defensive midfielder, full ownership for €100,000), Fábio Simplício (attacking midfielder, €1.8 million), Guillermo Burdisso (centre back, €500,000 loan), Aleandro Rosi (right back, co-ownership), Bogdan Lobonţ (goakeeper, €800,000), Paolo Castellini (left back, loan), Marco Borriello (striker, €10 million), Nicolás Burdisso (centre back, €8 million)
Players Out: Marco Motta (right back, €1.5 million for full ownership), Stefano Guberti (left winger, €3 million), Artur Moraes (goalkeeper, free transfer), and those out on loan
Strengths: Strikers, with Francesco Totti, Mirko Vučinić, Adriano, Marco Borriello and Stefano Okaka, Roma have a great offensive line. Their centre backs are also good, with Philippe Mexès, Juan, Marco Andreolli, Nicolás Burdisso and Guillermo Burdisso making up the core.
Weaknesses: Right Backs, as Roma only really have Marco Cassetti to cover there. Other players can fill in, however Roma could still use another natural player in that position.
Projected Place: 4th
Overall: Roma have a good team and should challenge for the top places in Serie A.
